Actor Jake Gyllenhaal freaked out when he saw his body double in new movie ” Source Code”.

The 30-year-old star plays an injured helicopter pilot, Captain Colter Stevens, who is enabled by scientists to live the last eight minutes of another man’s life in order to try and stop a bomb in the science-fiction thriller, reports contactmusic.com.

And the actor admits he found it disturbing to be introduced to the prosthetic version of his character, which had electrodes wired up to ‘his’ exposed brain.

A real blast from the past: Jake Gyllenhaal is twisting time again in sci-fi thriller Source Code
31 March, 2011 Author: Catagories: Interviews, Source Code

If Jake Gyllenhaal had just eight minutes left to live, it’s safe to say the media-shy actor probably wouldn’t spend that precious time with a journalist. “I think if I was in that situation, I would call my family and it wouldn’t be to apologise but it would be, hopefully, to have a good laugh. To hear them laugh because I love that with my family. And if that eight minutes came right now, I’d be, ‘Sorry I got to go. I’m gonna have to cut our interview short’,” he laughs.

If it seems like a curious conversation to have with one of Hollywood’s most sought-after young leading men then it’s because it’s pertinent to the many questions posed by Duncan Jones’s thought-provoking sci-fi thriller, Source Code.

All it took was one look at the script, and Jake Gyllenhaal wanted in on “Source Code.”

Gyllenhaal was intrigued by Ben Ripley’s science-fiction thriller about a soldier in a high-tech project, the Source Code, which sends him back in time for eight minutes so he can change events.

“The first 15 pages that I read are like, the first five minutes of the movie,” Gyllenhaal said last Sunday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles.

“You’re like, ‘What the hell is going on?’ I thought that they couldn’t take it any farther than it had already been taken.”

Jake Gyllenhaal’s commuter commotion
26 March, 2011 Author: Catagories: Interviews, Source Code

Jumping from independent pictures to mainstream movies was Jake Gyllenhaal’s calling card. Now the 30-year-old seems focused on middle-of-the-road projects.

Last spring, he played the running-and-jumping Prince Dastan in the frothy fantasy film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, which was based on the popular video games. He was also a slick pharmaceutical salesman opposite Anne Hathaway’s free spirit in the cheeky romantic comedy Love & Other Drugs. Up next for Gyllenhaal is the sci-fi thriller Source Code, which opens April 1.
