It’s been more than a year since the first Edible Schoolyard meal at the fashion designer Lela Rose’s TriBeCa apartment. And, since we weren’t able to make that one, it’s been more than a year that we’ve been looking forward to seeing Ms. Rose’s dining-room table. This isn’t some ordinary dinner table. It rather famously, at least in Edible Schoolyard circles, comes up from the floor in parts and drops from the ceiling.

In homage, John Lyons, the former president of Focus Features who serves on the board of Alice Waters’s Chez Panisse Foundation (which oversees Edible Schoolyard) said he was toying with the idea of hiring a set designer to redo his apartment. That way, he joked, “all of the furniture can fly in from the ceiling.”

International A-list celebrities are getting behind efforts to raise money for Greenpeace’s latest Rainbow Warrior, the environmental charity’s third such ship.

Movie stars Helena Bonham Carter, Jake Gyllenhaal and Helen Mirren are among the big names who have donated signed memorabilia to the charity auction, joining Kiwi’s Lucy Lawless and Rhys Darby.

The Rainbow Warrior is Greenpeace’s first purpose-built vessel which will be used to prevent environmental crimes across the globe and promote sustainable solutions.

Freshly bald Matt Damon loves his new look. What he doesn’t love is having his shaved head compared to Jake Gyllenhaal’s.

“Wow, I try not to envy, but I have to say Jake’s got a damn good-looking head,” Damon, 40, told PEOPLE at Wednesday’s New York premiere of his new movie about a killer virus, Contagion. “He sure does have a beautiful round head.”

“Normally you say, ‘That’s a beautiful head of hair, but that’s a beautiful head he’s got,’ ” Damon says laughing. “Gyllenhaal definitely gets the blue ribbon for the best bald head over me.”

Jake Gyllenhaal’s come a long way since his “Bubble Boy” days a decade ago — especially when it comes to on-screen Vegas visits.

Playing the wrapped-in-plastic title role 10 years ago, Gyllenhaal took a neon-nights cruise down the Strip on the back of Danny Trejo’s motorcycle.

This week, the all-grown-up Gyllenhaal returns to the Strip for the gritty cop drama “End of Watch,” from writer-director David Ayer (whose credits range from “Training Day” screenwriter to “Street Kings” director).
