MTC’s ‘Constellations’ Adds 3 Performances To Run

Jake Gyllenhaal and Ruth Wilson, the stars of Constellations, the acclaimed new play by Nick Payne, directed by Michael Longhurst, will play three additional performances as part of the play’s sold-out run at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street).

The additional performances are Friday, February 27 at 10 PM; Friday, March 6 at 10 PM; and Friday, March 13 at 10 PM. During these three weeks, the show will have nine performances each week.

The three added performances of Constellations, will mark the first time in the history of MTC’s 30 Under 30 Program, where such a large allotment of tickets are specifically set aside for this vital part of the theatre’s lifeblood.

Jake On Getting Stung & Why Ruth Wilson Is A ‘Real Animal’

Whether he’s playing a sociopathic stringer, a gay cowboy or a boy in a bubble, Jake Gyllenhaal has wowed us on the big screen for decades—but the Oscar nominee really surprised us when he made his off-Broadway debut in 2012, playing a supporting role in Nick Payne’s If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet. He must have had a blast, because he’s back on the New York theater scene, making his Broadway debut in another Payne drama: Constellations, opposite The Affair star Ruth Wilson. In the ethereal British import, Gyllenhaal plays Roland, a beekeeper who meets Marianne (Wilson) at a barbecue, unleashing a myriad of infinite possibilities. Gyllenhaal recently chatted with Broadway.com about his “beast” co-star, why he wants to put a beehive on the roof of the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre and more.
