Though it looked like Jake Gyllenhaal would be replacing Dominic Cooper in director Albert Hughes’ “Motor City”, the deal has reportedly fallen apart due to scheduling conflicts, according to Deadline. Gyllenhaal allegedly wanted to push the start of principal photography to fit his calendar, but financier Dark Castle scoffed and the actor walked.
The action-thriller, about a wrongfully-imprisoned man who hunts down those responsible for framing him after being released from the slammer, has now lost two leading men in a short period of time. Dark Castle shouldn’t have a hard time finding another actor of similar caliber to Gyllenhaal, particularly considering that newly-minted Oscar nominee Gary Oldman is attached to play one of the other roles.

With Dominic Cooper falling out due to scheduling conflicts, Warner Bros. and Dark Castle have worked fast to find a new leading man for “Motor City.” Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star. Amber Heard and Gary Oldman are already on board to also star with Albert Hughes set to helm.
