“Crash” star Michael Pena is in negotiations to join Jake Gyllenhaal in David Ayer’s police pic “End of Watch.”
The gritty cop drama chronicles the friendship between two longtime partners.
In addition to writing and directing duties, Ayer is also producing through his Crave Films banner, along with John Lesher and his shingle Le Grisbi Prods.
Pena next stars alongside Will Ferrell in the Lionsgate dramedy “Everything Must Go,” and he’ll also re-team with his “Observe and Report” co-stars Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari in Ruben Fleischer’s “30 Minutes or Less,” which Columbia delivers to theaters Aug. 12. Thesp recently wrapped Brett Ratner’s “Tower Heist” with Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy, and he can currently be seen in minor supporting roles in both “Battle: Los Angeles” and “The Lincoln Lawyer.”
