With a trailer for Everest already having teased crowds at CinemaCon in April, the attendees at the CineEurope expo in Barcelona later this month will have the chance to experience the full-length collective shivers of Jake Gyllenhaal, Jason Clarke, Josh Brolin and Sam Worthington in the upcoming all-star disaster movie from Working Title/Universal.

Directed by Baltasar Kormákur (2 Guns, Contraband) and also starring Keira Knightley, Emily Watson, John Hawkes, Robin Wright and Michael Kelly, Everest is inspired by true events in 1996, when two different climbing expeditions were faced with an epic struggle for survival in their attempt to reach the summit of the world’s tallest mountain.

“Everest brings with it everything audiences would wish for in a moviegoing experience; powerful visuals, brilliant performances and epic storytelling,” said Duncan Clark, Universal’s president of distribution. “We are thrilled to be able to show the film from Baltasar Kormákur finished in all its 3D glory!”

The film will screen on June 23 during CineEurope, which runs June 22-25 at the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona. The event is produced by Prometheus Global Media, owner of The Hollywood Reporter.

Everest is due for international release in September, having been pushed back from February.
