Trivia
- The second collaboration between Dan Gilroy and Jake Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo after Nightcrawler (2014).
- Bill Paxton, who played Joe Loder in Dan Gilroy’s first film Nightcrawler (2014), has sadly passed away in 2017. It is beautiful to see, however, that his son James Paxton is cast in the third film of Dan Gilroy – Velvet Buzzsaw.
- Zawe Ashton and Jake Gyllenhaal were both in Nocturnal Animals (2016), which coincidentally also was partially about the art world. But this time they actually do have screentime together.
- Rene Russo and John Malkovich were in a film together before, it was the political thriller called In the Line of Fire (1993).
