The Signature Theatre Company revival of August Wilson’s 1930s drama The Piano Lesson, and Manhattan Theatre Club’s dark romantic musical Murder Ballad, by Julia Jordan and Juliana Nash, dominate the nominations for the Lucille Lortel Awards, honoring the best in Off Broadway theater.
Reflecting the steady presence of name actors on NY stages beyond Broadway, nominations for the 2013 awards include The Daily Show correspondent Aasif Mandvi as lead actor for his turn in Disgraced; America Ferrera as lead actress for Bethany, alongside Vanessa Redgrave for Jesse Eisenberg’s play The Revisionist; and Jake Gyllenhaal as featured actor for If There Is I Haven’t Found It Yet.

Jake Joins 12-12-12 Benefit Concert Line-Up
The producers of “12-12-12” announced today that Steve Buscemi, Jessica Chastain, Chelsea Clinton, Sean Combs, Billy Crystal, Leo DiCaprio, Jimmy Fallon, Jake Gyllenhaal, Karlie Kloss, Seth Meyers, Bobby Moynihan, Chris Rock, Adam Sandler, Susan Sarandon, Jon Stewart, Kristen Stewart, Quentin Tarantino, and Brian Williams will participate at Madison Square Garden on December 12th, 2012 to show their support for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Tommy Hilfiger has also generously agreed to donate t-shirts as part of the merchandise offerings for “12-12-12”. Many of the celebrities involved will also be on-hand to lend their star power and participate in a telethon during the “12-12-12” telecast. “12-12-12” is presented by Chase and all proceeds will benefit the Robin Hood Relief Fund.
‘End of Watch’ Returns To Theaters December 7th
End of Watch — the hit film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña, written and directed by David Ayer, which opened to number one at the box office in September 2012 — will return to theaters nationwide on December 7, 2012. The announcement was made today by Tom Ortenberg, CEO of Open Road Films.

“Audience and critical response to End of Watch has been incredible. We are thrilled about the success of the movie to date and hope that this will be a new opportunity for audiences to discover End of Watch and for the film to be seen again on the big screen for awards consideration.”
