Jake Gyllenhaal Nominated For Tony Award
15 October, 2020 Author: Catagories: News & Headlines, Sea Wall / A Life

Jake Gyllenhaal is a triple nominee at the 74th Annual Tony Awards. He received one nomination for “Best Actor In A Play” for ‘Sea Wall / A Life’, as well as for his role as lead producer of ‘Sea Wall, A Life’ and lead producer of ‘Slave Play’, with his production company, Nine Stories. Congratulations, Jake!

I am deeply honored to be nominated today, but also recognize what an uncertain time this is for the theater world, and the world at large. So I encourage everyone first to VOTE and then, if you can, donate to The Actors Fund in support of the many amazing people who depend on live theater. Being without theater right now has left a huge void in anyone who cherishes the communal experience of artists coming together to tell a story in front of a live audience. I miss the incredible work of the theater community and I cannot wait to be back on stage with you all soon.

West End Transfer of ‘Sunday In The Park’ Postponed Until 2021
5 May, 2020 Author: Catagories: News & Headlines, Sunday In The Park With George

The London run of ‘Sunday In The Park With George’ has postponed its performances at the Savoy Theatre until 2021, following the temporary closure of the West End. Read Jake’s official update below:

Though it may not come as a surprise to many, we have been forced to postpone Sunday in The Park with George at the Savoy this summer. London is like a second home to me and I was so excited to be spending the season in that beautiful city finally bringing our production to the West End. But, in accordance with science, we’re going to have to wait. We will find another Sunday to bring our Sunday to you before too long. Thank you to everyone who already bought tickets (all that will be handled, not to worry) and I hope to see you all in the theater when this moment has passed. Until then, please stay safe and don’t worry: the beard will be back. Bigger and burlier than Broadway.
