Jake In Talks to Star in ’Presumed Innocent’ at Apple TV+

Jake Gyllenhaal is in negotiations to star in “Presumed Innocent,” the upcoming Apple TV+ limited series that hails from David E. Kelley, J.J. Abrams and Dustin Thomason.

Based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel of the same name, “Presumed Innocent” tells the story of a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys’ office when one of its own is suspected of the crime, and explores obsession, sex, politics and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.

Gyllenhaal will play Rusty Sabich, the fervent prosecutor accused of killing his close colleague after evidence begins to point in his direction.

Jake Gyllenhaal Announces His Debut Children’s Book

Jake Gyllenhaal is celebrating the aunts and uncles of the world.

On Thursday, Feiwel and Friends and Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group announced that it will publish Gyllenhaal’s picture book The Secret Society of Aunts and Uncles on Sept. 5, 2023.

The children’s book, which the 41-year-old Ambulance star cowrote with his longtime writing partner and friend Greta Caruso, follows 10-year-old Leo, his Uncle Mo and “a secret society determined to make their relationship bloom,” a release about the upcoming book reads.

The book will also feature illustrations from Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator Dan Santat.

The Secret Society of Aunts and Uncles is “a madcap, magical adventure into the heart of what it means to have an aunt or uncle—how we learn to keep each other close and how we find love in the simplest things,”.

‘Road House’ Reboot Gets Green Light At Prime Video

Jake Gyllenhaal is officially set to star in “Road House,” a reimagined take on the classic movie starring Patrick Swayze, for Amazon’s Prime Video.

Doug Liman will direct the new movie, from a script written by Anthony Bagarozzi & Charles Mondry. After producing the original film for MGM in 1989, Joel Silver is back on board to produce the reimagining for his company Silver Pictures.

Reports that Gyllenhaal and Liman were circling the project broke in November 2021. Prime Video officially announced the production’s impending start on Tuesday.

“’Road House’ is a homerun for us. Not only is it a nod to fans of the original, but it is also a big, fun, broad audience movie,” stated Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke. “We are thrilled to collaborate with Joel, Doug, and this great cast led by Jake Gyllenhaal, and for them to come together to reimagine the classic MGM film as an action-packed adventure for our global audience.”

Jake Will Host ‘Saturday Night Live’ On April 9th

Saturday Night Live will welcome Jake Gyllenhaal as its next host.

The actor returns for his second time hosting the show this Saturday, April 9th, accompanied by musical guest Camila Cabello, who is also making her second appearance, according to SNL’s official Twitter account.

Gyllenhaal last hosted the show in 2007 and has since made multiple cameos. Cabello made her SNL musical debut back in 2019, with her performance of two songs, Easy and Cry for Me.

Cabello recently released “Bam Bam” – in collaboration with Ed Sheeran – ahead of her forthcoming album Familia, which comes out on April 8th.

The next episode of SNL will premiere on April 9th at 11:30 pm (EST) on NBC.
