The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards will take place September 14th, 2025. The ceremony will air live on CBS and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

In a major deal that was highly competitive with multiple bidders, Amazon has bought the rights to Collision, a short novel in Don Winslow’s upcoming story collection The Final Score for Jake Gyllenhaal to star in and produce with his Nine Stories partner Josh McLaughlin and The Story Factory’s Shane Salerno.

Collision tells the harrowing story of a devoted husband and father with a great life who makes one terrible mistake that sends him to prison, where he must learn how to survive. But that’s only the beginning: When he finally becomes free, he learns why he was protected in prison and is a sent on a mission that will change him forever.

In addition to Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin for Nine Stories, producers in talks include Lynn Harris and Matt Reeves for 6th & Idaho, and Glassgold for 12:01. Query will adapt the screenplay.

Jake was joined by his fellow castmates, director Kenny Leon, and his mother Naomi, at a ceremony today unveiling his Sardi’s portrait honoring his performance in “Othello” on Broadway in New York City. Jake Gyllenhaal, currently back on Broadway starring as Iago in Othello opposite Denzel Washington at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, will be honored by Manhattan Theatre Club at the company’s 2025 Spring Gala, set for May 19 at Cipriani 42nd Street.

The event will be hosted by three-time Tony honoree Bernadette Peters, currently starring in MTC’s Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

The honor is the latest in a long association between Gyllenhaal and the theatre company. The stage and screen star led MTC’s 2015 production of Constellations, and served on the company’s Board of Directors from 2015 to 2023.
