Jake On His Career And Being Cartier’s Watch Ambassador

Integrity, dedication and boundless curiosity – Jake Gyllenhaal is said to embody all those qualities as the new face of the Santos de Cartier timepiece. And rightly so, for the man indeed has a pioneering spirit.

Gyllenhaal is regarded as one of the most adventurous actors of his generation. His roles span a wide spectrum: from troubled teenager in 2001 cult hit Donnie Darko to Brokeback Mountain’s conflicted, repressed sheep herder.

According to him, the latter remains as a favourite. Speaking to Star2.com via email, the 37-year-old says that the fearlessness of the film’s two characters was a lesson for everyone, especially when it came out in 2005.

Jake In Talks To Star In ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ Sequel

Jake Gyllenhaal is ready to bring a little mystery to the Spider-Man universe.

The actor is in talks to play the classic Marvel villain Mysterio in the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming. Spider-Man creators Stan Lee and Steve Ditko introduced Mysterio in the comics in 1964. A special effects expert, Quentin Beck used his talents to create elaborate illusions to commit crimes and to fight Spider-Man.

Tom Holland starred as the Marvel hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming and recently appeared in Avengers: Infinity War. Jon Watts is returning to direct the sequel to Homecoming, which earned $880 million worldwide. Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, two of the screenwriters behind the first movie, are back as well.

Jake To Play Music Icon Leonard Bernstein In ‘The American’

In what shapes up as another very strong Cannes title for next week, Jake Gyllenhaal is set to produce and star as Leonard Bernstein in The American, with Cary Joji Fukunaga directing and producing. BRON Studios will produce and finance a film that begins principal photography in the fall. Sierra/Affinity will sell international territories and Endeavor Content is repping North American rights.

Michael Mitnick adapted the script from the Humphrey Burton biography Leonard Bernstein.

Structured in five movements, like a symphony, The American follows Bernstein from conducting the New York Philharmonic at the age of 25 and through a meteoric rise to fame, all while struggling both personally and publicly to be everything that everyone expected him to be, most of all himself.
